The Boss 302 Mustang
The Boss 302 Mustang was conceived as an outgrowth of Ford's racing efforts in SCCA Trans Am racing. In order to compete "legally", Ford like many other auto manufacturers was required to produce a certain number of street vehicles similar to the car raced at the track. Unlike Ford's counterpart, the Chevy Z/28 which used bascially off the shelf parts, the Boss was very unique in many ways, least of which were the various components that composed the makeup of the Boss 302. This section, appropriately named "Boss Pieces", is an attempt to document the components within a Boss 302, from the off-the-shelf Mustang parts to the more elusive "Boss only" pieces that set the Boss apart from regular production Mustang. Boss Pieces does not profess to be the absolute last word on everything surrounding the Boss 302, but rather a coming together of all the currently available information from Boss enthusiasts around the world. Please feel free to email me with comments, suggestions, criticisms and most importantly, PICTURES! Good quality photos of the various components are sorely needed. I want this section to be OUR section - those of us that have a continuing love for the Boss 302.
