Xtremestang - so named because of the "extreme restomod" theme, is based on a garden variety 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback, "C-code (289 2 barrel V8) purchased from my best friend around 10 years ago in the middle of his divorce. He had originally intended to build a Shelby clone, but his soon-to-be ex-wife had other plans...

The car was built in San Jose and has spent its entire life in California and is extremely rust free and straight. I originally intended to build a Shelby clone, but as time went on, I decided to go a bit further and basically upgrade everything within the Mustang that was upgradeable WITHOUT destroying the basic Mustang theme (ie, no cutting, tubbing, body shaving, shock tower removal, etc). I have incorporated ideas from many venues, both past and present and even plan to do some vintage track racing if the combination I am building proves competitive. One of my big dreams is to run this car in the Nevada Silver State Classic where mostly newer cars are run over a 90 mile public highway as fast as they can go. To that end, several safety features have been incorporated including an SW Racecars 8 point rollbar, on-board fire-control system, and upgraded braking and suspension components.

As stated throughout several pages of my web site, I hope this car will represent the very best in a BITCHIN RIDE, that is, to have the LOOK, the SOUND and the PERFORMANCE. Hopefully, it will represent the culmination of my many, many years in the car hobby.
